Flood Risk

A huge thank you to all of you who have sent your sand bags. And thank you for your amazing ideas. I have been busy meeting lots of lovely people who are interested in the work shops.....creating things out of what we find on the beach. I am especially excited as one group will spend two days on the beach collecting too. They are a group of adults with learning difficulties, some of whom may not have been to the beach for a very long time. My studio is now set up in Holywell Art and Craft Mill. It is a beautiful building and if I feel the need for help I can pop next door and submerge myself in the Holy well. I have done this once!

As I walk along the drift line I some times hear the strangest sounds. I know it is probably sea birds but for a moment it makes me freak!!

ECHOES by Walter de la Mare
The sea laments the live long day,
Fringing its waste of sand;
Cries back the wind from the whispering shore-
No words I understand:
Yet echoes in my heart a voice,
As far as near as these -
The wind that weeps, the solemn surge of strange and lonely seas.
